Well, not my prettiest work, but it's done.
My pekin Drake was being too rough with all the girls. And considering the fact that only seven out of 30 eggs I set of his are even viable, I decided to cull the rest of my pekins and switch to Muscovy. I was planning to wait to butcher them when the Cornish cross were ready but I can't have my other girl ducks damaged in the meantime so he had to go.

I had a question for you. When you butcher, do you collect the blood in something? Or let it drain into the ground? Or...?

Not if we're just doing a couple birds. On our butcher day where we butcher up to 50 we have a 50 gallon barrel cut in half that is laid sideways underneath the kill cones. We put some mulch in the bottom so it's not just a messy slosh and then we dump the mulch wherever we need it around the property.

Good! Growing like weeds. We put them out in the field about a week and a half ago

And yes, I have the thermostat set to 80 in the day. Because I hate ac and it's not often it gets that high in the house.

31C with humidity making it feel like 36C or something

So 87.8f feeling like 96.8f
