I still have nightmares about the racoons getting my birds. Can honestly say that week was one of the worst weeks I can remember.

I was sitting in the hot tub the other night and heard a rustling/chittering noise behind me so I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight to see what it was and sure enough - it was a big raccoon foaming at the mouth, chittering it’s head off, pacing back and forth right outside the screened canopy less than 3ft away from me…I screamed, jumped out of the water and it took off scurrying underneath the porch somewhere so I ran into the house and went to bed thinking “WTF”…Then, the next morning I found it dead by the side of the house and now there are more of them lingering around.

I have some set up and baited with dog/kitty food but no action from them yet. It’s weird…

It’s like they know they’re dying and they have lost their freaking minds…That’s the only way I can describe it.

They are rabid. You need to contact your state DNR and report them, they track animals that are rabid. At the very least, dispose of the bodies, that way no animal tries to eat it and gets sick themselves
