Such sweet birds

Your rooster is so cute!!! I’ve never encountered a nice one because I probably I have never raised one myself. If I could only find one that was very quiet I could have one with my hens! (HOA Says no roosters, but what they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them) pretty sure that’s Impossible though LOL

There are some roosters with a whisper or squeak for a crow but they're pretty rare.

"cleoandtheflock, those pictures were lovely. Your chickens look golden!

The easiest birds to handle are the ones that have been bred to be handled for thousands of years. Anything considered a game, or anything derived from game chickens, which is a lot of them. (Cornish are derived from games). Especially the Oriental Games, they have been bred for close human contact for a very long time, possibly having a human trainer (often a small child) assigned to them on an almost individual basis. I have Oriental Game hens raise wild chicks out in the woods and can have the chicks perching on my shoulders after a few feedings. They go from completely wild to pet very quickly. Can even develop a level of "house manners".

I didn’t know anything about oriental game hens, they sound great! Will have to look them up

My favorelle and EE's are by far the friendliest in general. I also have a Barred Rock who is known to occasionally enjoy hugs. Good luck with your birds!
