Worst chicken breed

My poor son (now 22 yrs old) still has a scar on his arm!
He was 2 or 3 when he got attacked by a friend's RIR rooster.
I had just pulled him out of his car seat. I set him down & turned to close the door when this thing came out of nowhere & caught his arm with a spur before I could snatch him up. 😡
Luckily I was right there & that thing didn't do more damage before I was able to fight him off!
Fastforward 20 yrs. My breed of choice is still the Buff Orpington. My husband took a liking to the Lavendar ones a client had. So (since I was trying to smooth over buying more chickens!! Lol!) I bought a couple cute grey chicks at TSC. Labeled as Production Blues.
Here they are at 24 weeks.
The one w/RIR bleeding through is not my fave. She's MUCH more vocal than the rest, bossy and doesn't have a very good concept of MY personal space.
But she was the first to lay, so there's that.
They are pretty hens & while I like Penny (the other PB) much better, I'm still gonna stick to my Orpingtons & just find hubby some Lavender ones next time!
Will also do some research on the Blue Australorp. Australia's Orpington, so might be a good fit...🤔
I have been eyeing up Blue Australorps as well!! We currently have 3 Black Australorp hens, and man oh man... my husband doesn't like them bc they are obviously larger than our medium size flocks... but I simply adore them. It's true, I'm not a fan of their size either, but they are so friendly and hands down have the SOFTEST feathers EVER!!! And as someone who has Buff Orpingtons...If you like the Orpingtons you will LOVE the Aussies :)

Really? RIR roosters are my favorite, it’s the only breed I get a good protector out of. Never had an aggressive RIR. New Hampshire red though, those can be evil.
I think RIR are misunderstood. I have never had an issue with RIR either, but I think they are a breed that requires more space than other breeds. I free range during the day and they have ample space at night, but I could see an RIR becoming aggressive if they were kept in a bare minimum space coop and run set-up 24/7. They certainly need room to roam.

My least favorite would have to be Polish. If you don’t keep them trimmed they will face plant into the broadside of a barn. Then even after trimming they are like that one cousin everyone has that the elevator just doesn’t quite reach the top if you know what I mean… I know many people think it’s cute, but personally I almost find it kind of cruel to purposefully breed something so fragile, helpless and neurotic with a high chance to have brain damage due to the lack of skull. Just me though if I had to pick one.

We have had Dark Brahma (roo only), Barred Rocks, Buff Orpington, Cuckoo Marans, Delawares, Ameraucanas, OEGBs, Golden Comets, BSL, Starlight Green Eggers, and hatchery EEs as well as our own EEs.
In our opinion the worst is the Delawares, Barred Rocks, Cuckoo Marans & Dark Brahma. I'm very tempted to add Buff Orpington to that list. Ours have been good, but the ones my in laws have are jerks, hens included. The Delawares are SO loud & super susceptible to health issues. Definitely the worst.

I'm sad to hear that. I was planning to get a couple, but I don't need jerks.
Are there any other Columbian colored breeds?
Light Brahma? Is that a Columbian? They look similar, and they are considered dual purpose, due to their size. They are also sometimes show birds, and are known for their feathered toes. I have one in my flock, and she is beautiful, although I will say her feet get dirty easily.
