Where did your australorps come from? I have never had a mean one rooster or hen
I've only had two. Sweethearts, they were. They were picked on very heavily by the ISA brown for that reason

The ISAs were larger than most of the other chickens, is a lot of what I think the problem was.
I want to get a white egg layer this year but don't want leghorn or california white. So I am considering the Ancona and Andalusian chicken breeds and was wondering which one y'all think is better? BTW I should mention that what I'm looking for is a good bird that can be broody, lays eggs, and is a little more docile and not quite so flighty.

Could have been. Mine were from Hoovers about 2 years ago, if it helps.Interesting, my ISA brown have always been on the smaller side. Didn't stop them from being mean, however. Maybe a difference in lines?

Sweet ISA Browns sounds nice. They lay such awesome eggs every single day. It would be great if mine were friendly to other chickens as well as me. Enjoy your sweet fluffs!Yeah, definitely different lines. It's been four years since purchasing the last ISA brown, and I'm in Europe
