hope this is the right place for this, if not sorry and please move or let me know and i wll repost elsewhere.

was wondering, which would be better to go with my buff orps, white rocks or black stars. by better i mean no excessive fighting or picking on. (i dig it there will be some.) was planning on getting thru mcmurray.
and also anyone have any experience with mcmurrays line of white rocks? (broody, good breast meat, etc?)
and one last thing, has anyone got a white rock roo x buff orp hen cross??? what was that like, same as a barred rock x buff orp cross?
reason i ask last question is i read white rocks was developed to mature faster and have better breast meat.

I don't have any experience with McMurray hatchery. Regarding breeds of hens, I'd go with the white rocks, as rocks have an even temperament . Good luck with your decision!

LeJeune1 thank you for your input.

i guess i should have specified i want to keep a few hens thats excellent egg layers and known NOT to go broody. thats why i keep white leghorns, however i dont like skiddish chickens and want to phase that breed out for another production breed that lacks skiddish tendencies. i dont like having to chase them down if they need tending to. thats why black sex links has caught my attention. from what i have read they are friendly to people and are not skiddish, but know nothing about how they interact with other chickens, such as buff orps.
i probably will get white rocks anyway.
can anyone shed any light on black sex links and buff orps interactions for me. me and my chickens would appreciate it if you can. thanks,
Earl-Ray.
