I found a combination of the heating plate brooder and the heat lamp work great. I leave the brooder on all the time and use the heat lamp during the day that way they go to bed at night like a chick would naturally do with the mother but they have a warm area in the coop they can utilize without sitting under the brooder during the day.

Most the folks here on BYC are in the US, so the products they use are not going to fit that your of receptacle.
You might want to ask here in the UK chat thread about plates and/or heating pads that will work with your type power receptacle.
