White foam/bubbles building up in my chickens right eye

Hi,

I've noticed recently white foam or bubbles not sure what to call it has been building up in my chickens right eye.
If you can see from the photos, its only the right eye, left seems to be OK.
She tries to shake it off constanlty as its bothering her but it reappears again...
This is my beloved chicken out of all so I'd like to know what i can do to help her please.

It is likely something very simple and easy to treat such as a foreign body or dirt in the eye. Use saline solution to flush the eye generously. You can buy it at the pharmacy in the first aid supplies. Or make your own by boiling a cup of water with a half a teaspoon of salt (non-iodized) and half a teaspoon of baking soda. Cool before using.

Then put a dab of Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment in the eye. If the eye continues to bubble the next day, repeat the flushing and use the ointment twice a day. Do this until the eye is back to normal.

There's a chance this could be the start of a respiratory illness, but just watch for the other eye to bubble and perhaps the nares may leak fluid, too. If there's swelling around the eyes and facial tissue, you probably are then dealing with a CRD and you will need an oral antibiotic to treat it.

But it's most likely just an eye irritation.

You can use it. Should work okay.

If the bubbling is from infection, you should still use Neosporin in the eye after you use that.
