White Leghorn, the forgotten breed

Does anyone know of any hatcheries where I can buy rare leghorns?? Thanks!

I don't know where you are located, but the American Brown Leghorn Club could be a source of attentive breeders:

I have two hens. Missy and Claire are just over two years old (I think) and still lay better than my other chickens. Mine aren't very friendly, but Claire will eat out of my hand. They came from McMurray Hatchery.

Since the cockerels are now old enough to try their wing at mating the WL cockerels are going after everything in the coop! One of the Mottled Houdan boys didn't take too kindly to a WL cockerel trying to mount one of his girls so their was a bit of posturing at one another. One of the WL cockerels has 'taken a shine' to the Buff Laced Polish pullet and constantly tries to mount while she runs away. The other day he was going after a crevecoeur pullet but she was lightening fast when he thought he had her! I have to say the cockerels of this breed are very rambunctious compared to the other breeds of cockerels in the grow out coop and it seems they know which ones are the pretty girls because I have yet to see one of them go for the WL pullet at all. How are everyone's snow beauties with Spring approaching? Anyone hatching yet?

I don't know how you folks do it, but I never keep cockerels together after 2 months of age and prefer one cockerel to a dozen pullets. I will have my eye out for WL pullets this spring None of the feed stores seem to be ordering any around here. Some use Ideal, and some use Cackle or Privett.
