White Leghorn, the forgotten breed

I have had 6 total leghorns over the years I still have one the others were taken by a predetor but my two favs were good layers but I don't care for their attitude
The one in the back with a stain on its chest made it. Surprisingly these two are both hens despite their floppy combs

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy everybody's stories, and the pictures are so relaxing. It's sometimes hard to find other people that love the breed I do. I like all leghorns that are either made for egg production or for show quality. They all have a place in my heart. I like that there are differences in other lines or strains of white Leghorn. It's like having many breeds in one. It never gets boring for me. There is something about all of us that love this breed, we may not see eye to eye on certain matters but, I feel like we all are family and we all do agree ,we love Leghorns. So, THANK YOU ALL. I may not always chime in on every post but, I will always anticipate when this post comes to my email.

Hello everyone!

Does anyone else on here have broody Leghorns? I have two leghorn girls, and they are BOTH broody all year long! they are from Murray McMurray Hatchery, and are about 18months old...they layed for a few months then started switching off being broody :) One will set on a nest, and the other will be laying for me. Then, once the broody hatches out some chicks and gets them about half raised, the other Leghorn will start to set. They are wonderful Mama Hens, almost as good as my Dark Cornish. I just thought it was interesting as I hadn't read or heard much about Leghorns being a particularly broody breed.

Thanks!
