I have 6 hens that are suppose to be white plymouth rocks that came from Mt. Healthy. They started off yellow , now theyre around 17 weeks old, cream colored & slowly but surely theyre getting some color.

every single one has this, it started out as a fleck here and there, but most of them are getting what appears to be a faint, but distinct cuckoo barring pattern..in red. Its mainly on their wings & backs.

has anyone else got these & had this happen?. Im not too thrilled about it..when you pay for something & get something else its dissapointing. Im not sure if they use other breeders or hatch their own, but if theyre using breeders..they should inspect them before using them.

Not unheard of that hatcheries sell crossed flocks... Not saying they are, just could be.. They may possibly have some partridge rocks or some other red color in their background and it is leaking through the white, it happens..

Check Mt Healthy website, I think so you got Dekalb hens. Those have some redish feathers in the wings and tail. They are hybrid with very laying abilities. But you should contact them and let them know the mistake they made. It happens once and a while. Sometimes the volume of orders hatcheries received is so overwelming that they make some mistakes.
