Please help! I went out to check on my chickens earlier and one of them was just facing the corner of their coop. She was puffed up quite a bit so i thought she was just laying an egg. I went to poke her and move her to see if she was okay and she just moved and the yolk of her egg fell out. It looked like part of a shell fell out too as if the egg wasn’t fully devolved, and then i looked again and a big tube was hanging out of her vent. she kept on walking around until it finally fell out, and i have no idea what it is or what to do! She seemed fine after it came out — what do i do?

It is just some egg membrane material, probably to a mishap in her oviduct. It can be common. Has she had any problems laying thin-shelled or shell-less eggs recently? Does she eat layer feed, and does she have crushed oyster shell available? I would give her some extra calcium now, and you can use human calcium, Tums, or a finely ground egg shell, mixed into a little cooked egg.
