Whiting True Blue

Is McMurrays the only big hatchery that has Whiting True Blues? I’m looking to add some this year, but open to other 100% blue layers (locally sourcing true Ameraucanas)

The two solid blacks, one has always been bald on its back No pests and haven’t seen picking…

The husband’s favourite, possible cockerel? Named LJ

Named it Robin, undecided on keeping

These were part of the group order and went to a new home. Definitely cockerel on the barred?

I think so.... I could be wrong, but I almost think it was a creator involved in Murray McMurray Hatchery that created them. Basically, they're the Hatchery's hybrid. But I could be wrong....

They are a real breed (breed true but not a standard recognized breed), developed by Tim Whiting. Not a hybrid! I think McMurray is the only large hatchery that carries them.

Cream Legbars are also a blue egg breed!

I’ve decided to name them all after different birds! Today I sat out with them and started bribing with their first ever meal worms. Being in flockdown has been extremely depressing for me. Sitting out with my babies all day is legitimate therapy for me, it makes my life worth being here. This helped a bit, but I need them out being regular chickies soon

Oh, WOW @Poodlemum ! They are absolutely STUNNING! I love the blue & red one, the whole blue one, the white one your DH likes, & the white one you rehomed the best. What an amazing mix!

I think you are right about the barred guy! Huge comb!

Fresh pics! I sold one of the blacks Can’t wait for them to start laying! Everyone is so gorgeous… The solid blue is getting some copper colour in around her face and neck, but she wouldn’t hold still of course!

Which is which?

The bitty one in front! The one to the left is Jaguar’s, she tends to a green hue most days and sometimes give a good thick bloom. Penguin is a consistent blue layer and I don’t think I’ve seen any variations from her
