Who Doesn't pay any Income Tax

Can anyone say sales tax?? So in all honesty unless you do not buy a thing than everyone pays some tax.

And what about gas taxes, food taxes, property taxes, vehicle taxes, pet owner taxes, highway taxes, inheritance taxes, etc., etc., etc. I've even heard they are thinking of taxing us on the miles we drive per year. We're taxed to death. Yeah, we are, even death taxes!!

This is what I mean. How do you do it? Actually I'm not against paying taxes. It's a privilege to live in this country and everyone should have to contribute something if only a few dollars. Getting a refund check from the government without contributing one dime toward the support of same, should have everyone who does pay income tax up in arms.

AGREED 100%

Oh, my dh's step father, who is a ratical freak, doesn't pay income taxes, he just got out of federal prison. He had a great paying job on the North Slope of Alaska, so it's not like he didn't have money to pay like everyone else, he just chose not to, so we all got to pay for his housing for the past several years.

I am willing to bet that he still pays no taxes.

You get it by having kids and not making very much money.

But, It is called Earned Income Credit, it only goes to people who have a certain amount of earned income. I dont think ss qualifies as 'earned'

But why would you have to pay taxes on ss?? That seems dumb to me.

you have to pay taxes on SS because its income - even though you've already paid taxes on it once when you earned it

double taxation anyone? Ugh.. Its the same reason why if you get a state refund back on your taxes every year as an "overage" - the following year you have to claim that money as income - again..... double taxation at its best...

I've never felt that people should be rewarded for putting an additional burden on our natural rescources by having children. In fact I feel that families who choose to have more than two should be penalized instead. How much money do you think a guy who is old enough to get SS be allowed to make without paying taxes. There is no way I could ever actually live on my SS check.
