That's what I used to say, until I decided that I needed a bigger incubator that could hold more egg's.I hatch one group a year and keep a few pullets to keep egg supply up. This year I filled incubator up to capacity and ended up with 27 chicks. I quickly realized that this was too many for my available space. I took ten of them to a chicken auction the next town over so now have 17 left. I’ll raise them until I can sex them and sell any extras that I don’t need. I do need to replace a rooster that I lost a couple of months ago but I’ll probably buy one from the auction for new blood. Next year I will only set about 20 eggs.![]()
The baby golden naked neck cuddles with me already with the little yellow silkie and I can’t get enough of their baby cuddles!!@NuggetMama decided to take the 2 chicks that I hatched from my next door neighbor's hens home with her this past weekend.

I knoooowwww but gosh is John a little cuddler! That baby decided to come curl up next to me when I was answering the post again and started snoring these teeny tiny little snores. (I cleaned his nares, he had shaving in them from sleeping face first in the shavings)It won't be looking so golden once the feathers start coming in.
