Who else is on WEIGHT WATCHERS

My husband is joining me on this journey and he's quite picky so I have to keep things simple. Last night we had chili over potatoes, and tonight well prob use the left over chili for chili dogs. I found some Lf hot dogs at walmart so well see how it goes. Tomorrow probable turkey burgers w/ salad or a meatloaf w/ rice. How many of you are doing WW online? Are any of you attending meetings?

My room mate just met his goal of 150 lbs last month. He lost 80 some lbs- as much weight as our dog, just about!
We are all really proud of him, and I for one am glad that through our attempts to support him, the rest of us have started eating healthier too!
A recipe (more of guidelines, really) that I have made a LOT is this stir fry. It isn't too many points and it sorta curbs the chinese food cravings a bit. Best of all, its EASY and even my picky family loves it!
This recipe makes enough to feed about 5 adults

3 bundles of somen rice noodles
1/2 head of purple cabbage
1-2 lbs. chicken or other meat, or maybe even scrambled eggs
teriyaki sauce
soy sauce
1-3 tablespoons (oil if you don't have a nonstick wok/pan)
assorted veggies, pick what you like! I have used the following in various combinations
1 onion
4-6 garlic cloves (or teaspoons of canned minced garlic)
2 carrots
1-2 cups peas
3 celery sticks
1 small head of broccoli
1 can waterchestnuts
2 cups diced mushrooms
1 bell pepper
1 bundle green onions
1/2 zuchini

The noodles cook in 3 minutes once the water boils, so just fill a pot and set it on the stove while cutting veggies.
Dice the meat and onions. Mince garlic. Cook all three, and add in teriyaki when almost done.
Put oil in wok/pan (you may not need it if it is non-stick!) toss in veggies (but not the cabbage!) and sautee till they are done enough for your liking.
When the water boils, just follow the directions on the noodle package.
When noodles are done and rinsed, throw them in the wok with the veggies. Add the meat. Drizzle on soy sauce and stir fry!
Word of caution-the longer the cabbage is in contact with the noodles, the more they will turn a rather odd shade of blue. Still edible, but doesn't look apetizing!

This recipe has pleased veggie-haters, chinese food haters, picky children, and (when spilled) the dog. It is very filling, reheats well as leftovers, and can, theoretically, be eaten cold as the noodles recomend. It works as a whole meal, no need for sides. All in less than an hour and a half (and yes, all the chopping is included in that time) This is a great recipe for experimenting, and is also easy for kids to help with. And a great way to use up surplus veggies.

I am doing WW online....so much easier for me since I live so far away from any meetings. Also easier for me to plan ahead my meals for the next day. That way I can pack all my food into a lunch box and know how many points I am eating while I am at work.

Broke down and went to my first meeting in a very long time last night. I really need the support and motivation, I upped my WW membership to include meetings instead of just the online stuff. It's so hard to get going again and breaking some old habits I have. Hope everyone else is moving along in the right direction.

I do WW online. I'm not a group person and I'd have to drive almost an hour one way to get to a meeting. This week I kind of fell of using the tracker, but managed to lose.

Carolina chicky, Sorry I'm just now getting back here to thank you for the Mexican Lasagna recipe. The brownie recipe is something I might try. Two questions; what size brownie mix did you use and how many servings does it make?

Iowa Roo Mom, thanks for that link!

After trying this recipe, it has become one of our favorites. DH specifically asked me not to lose the recipe. The taco seasoning really makes it.

Black Bean Chicken Chili

2 cans black beans
1 small onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 Tb. Taco seasoning
1 can Rotel diced tomatoes/peppers
2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, chopped and cooked
fat-free sour cream for topping

Saute onion and celery in saucepan using vegetable spray or a little olive oil to coat. Place onion/celery mixture, one can of beans and liquid only from other can of beans into food processor. Puree this and return this to saucepan, along with remaining beans. Add Rotel, chicken and seasoning. Allow to simmer 15 minutes. Exchanges: 1 ¾ bread, 1 meat, ½ vegetable. (Sorry I don't know how this translated to points. We serve it with baked Tostito chips, but they are not included in the exchange info).

I just started a week and a half ago...I'm on my own here, as spouse is naturally thin.

I'm thrilled to discover that I can have a filling meal for only a few points, and devastated to see how many points dark chocolate packs, lol. I'm also excited that the plan takes breastfeeding into account...otherwise, I starve while I'm nursing. I'm enjoying getting new ideas for recipes here. Zero point soup is good, but you can only eat so much before you want something different.

Woo glad to see everyone's going strong!

Minus me. Well this week was both my best friends birthday (on Monday) and then my birthday right after. My twenty first birthday, I might add. Do you know how many points vodka is? *shudders* well anyway I ate like a pig this week. Lots of feasts and parties and alcohol and all that so I was dreading getting on the scale after work today... So I shut my eyes and got on and then peaked and...

I lost two pounds!

How the HECK that happened I have no idea but thank goodness it did! Woo! But now back to my healthy food...

Not a recipe thread but pertains to ww and points and thought you would like it. Seems like an easy recipe.

These are awesome and only 2 pts for weight watchers. Great with any flavor cake mix but I think chocolate is best. They have the consistency of a brownie. Add sugar free whipped topping for an extra special treat!
2 pt weight watchers cupcakes
