My girls, two of them at least, are no longer freeloaders. I figured I had a couple of weeks (16 weeks Yesterday). Low and behold, I found a little pullet egg when I got home from work last evening. I went in and fixed supper and came back out and found another. I must admit, I've fallen behind and haven't got any nests set up yet.

ME! 2 of mine are almost 18 weeks and if the person who sold me the other 6 is right they are almost 20 weeks no eggs yet:( But its been very hot and humid here so maybe that has something to do with it also. Checking everyday 2 and 3 times a day LOL So hopefully SOON hurry up girls quit making momma wait.

I'm waiting too. One of my Dominiques has a nice red face that just appeared about a week ago and she is about 19 weeks old. I put some oyster shell out since their all on grower feed till my youngest ones get older. Where are my eggs missy??!!!

I to am waiting for the first egg ours are 18 weeks we had 8 chickens and 4 ducks then an animal got 4 chickens and 2 of the ducks so then we sent for more now we have a new addition 25 more chickens, 8 geese and 13 turkeys. I check everyday for the first egg and nonthing yet. My husband played a joke on me and put an egg in one of the nests about a month ago and I got so excited about my first egg then he started laughing and burst my bubble. This is my first time ever raising chickens so I don't have a clue on what I am doing!!!!!

I've gotten 3 eggs in the last 4 days...from one out of 8 hens. Does it still count that I'm waiting for my other 7 hens to pitch in?
