who else likes muscovys??

I love muscovys because they are way quieter than raspy loud ear raping duck breeds.
If u like mucovys talk in this thread and lets make a muscoy community together.Post videos, images, tips, and etc about muscoveys:)
Me, too. When I was a wildlife rehab volunteer I brought home many orphaned/disabled waterfowl. I got to know the personalities and habits of the different ducks and decided that Muscovies were my favorite - mostly because they don't quack. (Had a Call duck once and nearly lost my mind!). It was a hard year and right now I am down to one lonely duck. BYC is such a vast site. Is there a place where we are allowed to ask to buy or adopt?

You can just make a thread in the duck forum saying your location and that you are looking to buy a few ducks. Also you can search for your state thread and make a post there so other people who live in your state can see it. Checking your local Craigslist is usually a pretty good option too, most places around the country have ducks listed on Craigslist.

I need to get updated photos of my girls, although they are spending most of their time right now grumbling in the back of the barn about the weather and the “new girls”.

My ‘Scovy sisters are 2 and 1/2 years old. They are known as the ‘Scovettes, or Goon 1 (my white hen) and Goon 2 (my pied hen) when they are up to no good.

They used to be close with my original Rouen, Daphne. Now, the Rouens and the ‘Scovettes have their own cliques.

Goon 2 successfully defended the ‘Scovy food bowl from the Raiding Rouens tonight. She and her sister had a great ‘Scovy-style celebration afterwards.

Muscovies have fantastic and complex personalities. That’s why I love them!

I’ve been living with Muscovy since 2004. They are such awesome ducks, long lived, great mamas. Broody to extreme but any of us that have experienced this just learn to live through it. They are a determined bunch that’s for sure. My oldest now is Ruth Ann she just turned 14 next is my drake Opie he will be 10 in June and Hope and Joy will be 10 in July then last but not least is Dolly, she will be 9 in June. Dolly an Hope an Joy were still laying last year and Dolly went broody and hatch some Runners. I haven’t hatched any Muscovy in many years because I have a hard time finding good homes for my drakes and as many of you know trying to keep more than 1 muscovy drake is a real pain. But they will always hold first place in my heart. ♥️ Dolly still thinks she is the runners mama still sleeps with them at night.
