I love my orps! I’ve got three buff orphingtons who are still technically pullets at 10 weeks. They’re not *exactly* lap chickens, but considering I’ve got a light brown leghorn and two GLW (golden laced Wyandotte’s) one of which is a rooster, they’re much more chill. They are definitely the type of bird to crawl on you if you sit out in the run quietly enough. They also, like all chickens, go absolutely feral for bread, especially sourdough I’ve learned. I’d would recommend buff orphingtons but definitely with friends of different breeds, makes it more interesting.

These two actually belong to my youngest sister, but I’m extremely attached to them! Their names are Casey and Emily (she named them too). Emily always wants snuggles and always insists on hopping up onto your shoulder, but she also likes to snuggle on your lap. They are pretty much inseparable too.

There has never been a chicken that I’ve hated, but I’ve come close to it with cockerels! If they didn’t chase my ladies and make them so scared I’d have no issue
