We went to the Alamo in Houston when we lived there. Great movie house. Free Thursdays (small theatre in the back) with all the wierdo movies was good; Toxic Waste Avengers and Butt Crack for example. You could sit with like minded folk and watch really cheezeie stuff and make lots of loud remarks, boo, groan, ect... The price was right.
The best theatres are in Indonesia. Lazy boy recliner, food service and a blanket. You can sleep through all the crappy movies they make these days. I am also nostalgic for the drive in theatre. All nighters; 4 movies in a row. Free frozen battery service afterwards. In Calgary they even had them in the snow.
The Alamo Drafthouse now has the worlds best public service announcement, thanks to an outraged former patron. Its about their policy on texting and talking during the movie. I'll post the link if I can find it. WARNING adult content. In fact I think the girl says about five words that aren't adult content. The second link has the unedited form.

We have one around here that had been falling into disrepair. Some buisness majors from my college took it on as a senior project and they're in the news all the time now with the "grand re-opening"

Build one. The one in Alabama http://www.henagardrivein.com/ is just a few power poles with a old tin barn roof attached for a screen. The food is served in a small barn an the projector is in the hay loft. Hole thing is on about 3 acres an probably cost a little over $10K. Mostly for the projector. It makes a killing for what he has in it.
I just watch movies at home saves me time and a whole lot of money.I love movies well not chick flicks, guess that comes from growing up with all brothers and a military father.
Can't stand those tacky movies. Im more of a post apocalypse movie type person or SHTF type movies.Love a good sifi or fantasy movie as well.

Easier said then done but I would actually love too do that.
