I officially went on lockdown last night, 7:00 pm was the deadline. now it's day 19...i know it's still early but am hope ful. early in the incubator i couldn't get it above 98.6 for the first week then i had a spike of 101 for about 30-45 minutes one night, then it's pretty much been 99.5 ever since, except the other day when my water evaporated, i came home to it on 100.8 that was pretty much all day when i was gone, so I hope that didn't hurt anyone:/...oh, poo, if one day ruined it, i will be pretty dissapointed. But I suppose like all of you i will just have to wait and see. I've heard of worse temp spikes and people still having pretty good hatches...soooo...only time will tell...(and a lot of praying can't hurt.)
I'm sure your positive attitude had a lot to do with it - you've been fun to follow and I hope you have a great hatch. BTW what kind of ducks are they? I love my ducks. I always get the kindergarten chickens but this year only one hatched out and the teacher didn't want it to be alone. The feed store didn't have any baby chicks, just one little roen duck. She loved that little duck so much when she took them home for the week-end it would follow her around - when it was time for me to take them she told the kids they had to put their heads down to think good thoughts for the chicken and duck but really she just didn't want them to see her crying. She said she never felt that way about a chicken. I hope you get wonderful ducks!
