I've got 2 out!
The "surprise" chick that I was sure had died around day 16 was very sticky and had a bit of yolk left - but he seems very strong, and has QUITE the set of lungs!
I haven't seen or heard anything from egg #3 in awhile...it was rocking around and singing to me this morning though. How much air supply do they have in the egg once they've pipped into the air-cell? I can't see an external pip yet - unless it's on the wrong side of the egg
(I have them setting in a hunk of egg flat.)
Hopefully egg #3 is okay - just watch, he'll probably pop right out in a matter of minutes in the wee hours of the morning.
And hopefully sticky-chick will be alright. I was tempted to open the 'bator
- but it's just a very little bit of yolk left, and when I tore myself away from watching him a few minutes ago, his neck feathers were beginning to fluff up a little.
Is it normal for the temperature to drop in the incubator as the chicks come out? After the first guy hatched, I dropped 1.5 degrees. My humidity has been beautiful and constant though!
