Who has had success in fighter their City Ordinance

I live in San Jacinto California and my city requires at least 20,000 sq ft lot to have hens and rooster. I am doing my research and want to approach our City Council and be prepared. I contacted our local feed store and they are willing to have a petition at their counter for residence to sign if they agree with a change in the ordinance. I wondered who has success fighting for their right to have chickens as part of their family.

My cousin successfully had the laws changed in her city. I'm starting my challenge soon. Several cities within 25 miles of me have changed or are considering changing their ordinances within the last year.
