Who has purchased eggs from ebay ? and what was your hatch rate ?

I had an egg that looked to have a blood ring, which went on to develope. I am scared of throwing anything out before day 10 now.

I might start waiting until the 14th *just to be sure* before throwing anything out. Unless of course it smells bad.
It's good news in a way. I'll be looking at all my current eggs in a different way now, with the possibility of them still developing!

Had some very good results and some where what hatched was far from what i bought, so good to do some research before buying. There are some good and bad breeders on there.

Yes, unfortunately people don't usually leave feedback including details of the actual hatch. I will be with all of my orders on eBay. It's too bad I can't leave feedback on My Pet Chicken. The hatching eggs from there were packed horribly.

Whoooo, I got some of my hatching eggs in the mail today!!! One package is still due to come tomorrow. :)

Yes, my reviews will be positive if I have above 95% fertility and packing is good. The detailed review part will include notes on how many began developing, stopped, finished and hatched, and if they were the right breed of chicken.
I will also include incubating notes on what I'm using, what temp and humidity and method (egg carton or not).
Basically leaving a review that I would personally be looking for when deciding to buy from a seller. :)

I was looking at eggs on e-bay today and some people had came back and updated their feed back after the hatch. I didn't think you could do that.

I thought you were new to this Georg.
I am new to this, I have only done one batch before this which my friend incubated for me in her incubator. This is my first actual hatch that I've attempted in my own incubator which is a homemade bator :) my friend has so much success hatching my last batch for me I've purchased the same bator as her it's brilliant and so cheap and can hold 48 eggs, it turns them every 2 hours and its only £120 inc postage fl

HI, Everyone has their own way of doing things.....................I do not candle until day 11....then again at lockdown.........
I don't like messing with the eggs to much and , at least for these eyes, to many chances for mistakes.
It took me awhile to get this hatching down. trial and error to learn my incubator.
Generally speaking, I have found that sellers do their best....it is not them that dictates the hatch number..........It's really on the buyer.......... ...........

Goodness knows what happens with the PO..............including possible x-ray............
Shipped eggs are always a gamble and 50% is a good hatch for shipped..............that is what I have read anyway.
My suggestion is try to find some cheap or free eggs for a couple of hatches to get the hang of it..................
Also, for my situation, I lost many chicks running my humidity to high....dry hatch works for me..............
Good Luck all .
