Who has purchased eggs from ebay ? and what was your hatch rate ?

I am new to this, I have only done one batch before this which my friend incubated for me in her incubator. This is my first actual hatch that I've attempted in my own incubator which is a homemade bator

my friend has so much success hatching my last batch for me I've purchased the same bator as her it's brilliant and so cheap and can hold 48 eggs, it turns them every 2 hours and its only £120 inc postage fl
I almost bought this one, instead I got their cheaper octogon shaped one. I really like it.

I did conciser the octagon incubator but I wasn't so fussed about opening and closing the incubator all the time to turn the eggs by hand, have you had many succesfull hatches from this ? So i bit the bullet and bought this it turns every 2 hours :) I will let every one know how I get on with this.

Hehe. My incubator upgrade will definitely be a self turning one with a capacity of at least 2 dozen.
My current Little Giant 4 dozen incubator does a fantastic job, surprisingly, so I've had a hard time justifying buying a new one just yet.
I've made a deal with myself that if I can raise funds for an incubator as a direct result of selling eggs or chicks then I will go ahead and buy it. The one I would ideally want costs something like $300-$400 USD.

Little update on my eggs:
I am conducting an experiment. The eggs I am not sure of that are either too far behind on development or have possible blood rings, I am sticking underneath my broodies until I can be sure. That way they don't take up incubator space in the meantime and if one does explode, I'll not have compromised my growing eggs and ultimately will only have a very confused and upset hen on my hands.
So we'll see how that goes!
Got all my BCM eggs in the post today. My cream legbars are due tomorrow.
These are all eBay eggs. They were shipped well packed and arrived with mild air cell damage. I don't think it is enough to compromise my hatch. :)
So far so good, fingers crossed!!
(9 out of original 18 Ameraucana eggs are for sure growing. 6 I am not sure about, one wasn't viable, one had a blood ring, and the last one I THOUGHT had a blood ring but turned out it was not)

Eggs are little round packages of magic!
What other food items can you stick in a warm humid environment and 21 days later it turns into an adorable baby animal???

Wow $300-400 dollars is about £200 in English pounds my incubator in dollars probably cost around $250 which I think is such value for money.

Wooooooo wishing good luck for you, they sound like they are good eggs. How many days till lockdown on your 9 ? Lockdown is tomorrow for me so scared lol!!!

I work at home so turning them has not been any trouble. If at some point I need a hatcher I'll get an incubator with a turner and use the octogon to hatch in. But couldn't see spending so much if this turns out to be another of my short term hobbies.
