I think I already mentioned to you that a U2 was on my short list. U2, CAG & Amazon made the short list. I think I picked the right breed for my family. For the most part he is pretty quiet. Needy as hell, 😜 but quiet. He only gets loud when I am on the phone.
I guess I never thought about that, I've never heard a CAG scream.
YEP what she said 👆🏻
Neurotic, needy all the same. My Levi has severe Separation Anxiety. He must be with the family always.
Exactly, as if I don't know about neurotic/ needy birds having a 'too
Have to ..... hahahaha 😄
Lol, well actually I'm being forced to keep birds against my will, JK I couldn't live without them!
I've tried several times. After he freaked out & got tangled up in it, I was done.
Haven't tried in several years.
Cookie was really scared too, what type of harness did you use? I used avianweb and it took months to train her but we did it.
My husband taught him this without my knowledge. One day he did it & I was laughing so hard.
That's so cute! CAGs are so smart and amazing at mimicry!
That's a great video! I used to do that with my sun conure ❤️

Cockatiels are wonderful, we have one and just love her whistling and she is very cute....a miniature of my cookie! What type do you want?
I really love lutinos and white face pearls.
If I were to get a boy I'd want a lutino and since pearls fade on males I'd have a female white face pearl.

cookie is a rescue. Her story is quite amazing, her 1st owner were a older couple that unfortunately passed away about 2 years ago. They had about 20 parrots and their kids did not want any of they so they gave them to the rescue. Then another person adopted her, a woman who got her as a companion for her husband who had cancer and was home alone all day ( kids at school and wife worked). He too unfortunately passed away and the woman realized that they were not able to give her the time she deserved so they gave her back to the rescue 💔. Finally I came along....my mango had been in and out of vet and was currently trying to ween out of a oxygen chamber we created at my home. Unfortunately he had what I believe was a stroke while in the chamber and was on the edge of life that day. I finally came to the conclusion that I should either put him down or let him die on my lap where he wanted to be, I held him as he took his last breath. Only 1 night went by when waking up to a empty cage wad to much and I needed another bird. We went to a local rescue but no bird really felt like "the one" so I came home in tears. I searched and searched and found a rescue 3 hours from us, we called her and she said she thought she had the perfect bird for me. After seeing her pictures I knew she was it. Turns out she had only been in the rescue 2 days, we even went by the 2nd owners house to buy her cage for her and they got to say goodbye. She has a history of feather plucking too, when the second owner got her her chest was completely bare and her back was scruffy. Her feathers grew back but then I was very busy and wasn't able to be with her much she started plucking again, her feathers have grown back and now I'm spending lots of time with her.

Here's a picture of paco showing off when I had him at work. Id bring him to work with me on the days we had to go to the vet or something, that way it was a quick trip from work to the vet instead of all the way home, grab him, all the way backout etc.

He won't show off when I have the camera out but let someone else get one and it's ham city.
