Who here keeps aquariums as a hobby?

conny63malies,
Wow! I had not idea that you could keep that many puffers in the same tank. I read that
they would fight like beta's till one of them was remaining. That is cool that you were able
to make that work. I bet there were just striking in your tank. I know that the one
that I have is the fish that everyone comments about when they come over.

How old are they now??

Bringing back a zombie thread! Any more aquarists in the house? I had over 30 tanks and have bred over 100 species of fish so seeing aquarists chicken keepers is pretty cool! My favorite is probably my reef tank.

I have 3 tanks in storage. They've been in boxes since I moved out of CA in 1996. Heck I've moved 3 times since then and haven't opened one to even see if they survived. I have, however, brought my wooden stand down from the loft and set it up with the idea that I might just get the 10 gallon out sometime in the next year. I've only ever raised fresh water, usually tetras, angel fish and so forth. Hope you can get others to jump in here. I'm not around much any more.

We are a family of fish lovers here, lol - DH and I both got into the hobby long before knowing each other (I have been keeping, breeding and selling fish since I was 8, he started around 15) and our poor kids didn't stand a chance of not inheriting our MTS (multiple tank syndrome). I had a "fish room" growing up - the spare room in our house my parents allowed me to claim and use for all my tanks, and, as a couple, at the height of one of our marital MTS flares we had 9 tanks up and running in our house.
At the moment we have four tanks - two 75 gallons (one for each of the kids as they are their 4-H projects), a 125 gallon (mine) and a 29 that is used by both kids as a breeding/rearing tank for the various fish they raise. The local shops that buy their stock provide enough income to pay for all of our supplies, so it's a self-supporting hobby at this point.
DD also used her project for FFA - she took it all the way as a state finalist for STAR in AgriBuisness and will be competing as one of four in the nation for her SAE - Specialty Animal at the national convention this fall (which I am realizing is an even bigger deal than I thought now that I've been reading through the packets of information that have been sent for her)
