Who Is At Day 18 or 21 Today on Their Hatch??

I watched one of my Blue Orp eggs currently in the hatcher just rocking and jerking over and over yesterday. Today is Day 19, but that one is wanting out of its cramped quarters. My problem is that my house is pretty cool with overnight temps right at 40, no heat or woodstove going so I have a quilt over the bator to try to keep the temps from seesawing too much. So far, it's been doing great. Humidity between 66 and 69 and I'm trying to hold it there till they begin pipping.

I have another pip

Mark, sometimes they just sit and do nothing, then suddenly, they're halfway out. Every hatch is different. Once I did have a pip on Day 19 from a Speckled Sussex, but that is unusual. This chick being so active is something I don't usually see, either, especially before Day 20. It's moving quite a bit, to my surprise.
If the worst happens and you get nothing in your school hatch, I have a suspicion that it may be due to some "helpers" when you aren't looking. No worries! As disappointing as it will be if that occurs, you know where you can get more of those eggs. AND this time, I have Ameraucanas laying beautiful greenish-blue eggs to send you as well.
BUT, don't give up hope yet. Its just now Day 21. I'm still hoping to hear that something's pipped today for you.

not yet, still getting some rocking though. Have to head home in a bit, but I'll be back tonight to check. I may actually spend the night at school. We'll see.
