Congrats on your chicks :) This time of year is so exciting! I love watching the hatch threads here. It's fun seeing what colors everyone gets and reading all the hatch adventures.

My first 2 viable eggs are due in 3 days. I think only 1 will hatch though. The other looks like it may have quit sometime in the past week or so. I have 10 in the incubator now added over the past 2 weeks. I gave a few eggs away and one was laid off the perch and broke. Going to put the 5 eggs from the last 3 days in the bigger incubator tomorrow.

Well.....I had another one hatch! It's in the big incubator. I've had 2 hatch! I've some die in the shell. It seems to be a learning experience.
Sorry for your losses and I hate to be negative, but if you're having trouble hatching guinea eggs you're probably going to have similar problems with pea eggs.

That nice to know!!! I think that I didn't get enough moisture to the aka I opened the incubator when I shouldn't have. I left it alone. And this time the guinea came out of the shell by itself !! So far it is strong and doing fine. Maybe the new is warring off and I leave it closed! It sure made a difference!

I think they laid too early. They were laying in February! They are suppose to lay until April!

Some of these so called "lockdown" theories are uncalled for in some instances depending on what kind of incubator you have. When we had our Brinsea which is digital, when you opened the door the humidity level would drop down to 30% or so,,but once the door was shut again within about 2 minutes it was already back up to 55-60%. The styrofoam models with just a water tray and no fan blowing is much diffrent.

The first eggs I tried to hatch were chicken eggs and even though I opened and closed the incubator *often* I still got 100% hatch from fertile eggs in 20-21 days, but then I did pea eggs... of the 9 fertile eggs I put in it, only 4 hatched. One died early, 4 died in the last 2-3 days. Just be prepared is all I'm trying to say. IMO, until you get close to 100% on Guineas and chickens, expect way less with pea eggs.

Mine is also fully auto and there's no need to open it except to candle.

I am a novice when it comes to incubation.
