Candler being used is a Brinsea Ova-Scope. It's bright enough that I can detect embryos on pea eggs on day 4 or 5.

I did a lot more candling than I should have last year, but I still had really good hatch rates so I don't think it hurt the eggs. I just used a little $2.99 LCD mini flashlight from TSC, but it got to the point where I could also detect them at about 5 days. I was just learning too, so I wanted to get as much practice as possible. Keep me posted on it's progress, I'm curious to see how it does. I just fired up the incubator today. I bought some chicken eggs off of ebay and I think I'm gonna see if they survived the PO. Double laced Barnies, really pretty chickens.
