Who is hatching on Nov. 14???

That's so cool. I have silkie/frizzle/cochin eggs coming soon, I can't wait!!

Well, I candled last night at 6 days. Out of 23 eggs, I have 10 that I can see veining, and movement in some. 2 BBS Orp eggs, I couldn't tell because they were too dark. I think I need a stronger flashlight. And 11 that are clear or questionable. I didn't take pull any yet, just in case.................. These are White Silkie, BBS Sizzle, and 2 BBS Orp. Anyone else do some candling???

yes I did last nite also and was a bit frustrated with myself.One egg I dropped just like 2in on to the table but enough to crack the shell bad and of course that one was growing.Another was not growing and that one cracked when I touched it.Some looked like that were doing something but I too seemed to have poor lighting and so I quit afraid I had the bator open too long.I will wait til next week.

I just candled mine.... I started with 27 and 8 were clear and so were removed.... Silkies are so much easier to candle than the Cochins!

I candled mine again tonight!! 17 mutts and 2 of my Blk tailed Jap Bantam, both her eggs are fertile! I can't wait to see what I get form these 2. Either my Silver Spangled Hamburg or my Barred cochin bantam mated with her, so this should be an interesting mix!!!

Just passing by, but reading this thread has resulted in me googling "incubator", which, please believe me, I need like I need a hole the head. I think it's only a matter of time before what's lying around egg-wise goes into an incubator, at least once for the experience.

Yup, I can imagine. I think it's only a matter of time now. I have lots of different breeds mixed together so that will hold me off a while, I suspect. Otherwise, 90% chance TURKEN/TURKEN CROSS!

hello urban seems we are together for three weeks straight. I have 16 wheaton marans 2 BCS and on lavender wyandotte hatching the 7th. On the 13 and 14 have 8 BC marans hatching. Tried to candle at day five haha. So dont know for sure yet how many eggs just to dark but think I saw some veining, Will candle on day 10 to look again at least them you can see a air sac. Good luck to all. I had a halloween hatch with 18 wellies and 17 hatched so hopefully these will do as well. I will and hope to have fuzzies everywhere

I have 18 silkie eggs in the incubator now due Nov. 14th.
This will be my second try at incubating.
Hopefully, I will get a better hatch rate this time.
