Thanks

I have just assisted him out following the instructions as it was so hard around the first hole he couldn't break it.

Right at the end there is brown goo from over his back forming a sort of line to the white membrane not sure if that should still be there so have put him back in the incubator as he is so tired.

I think that s all can o??

With regards to blood cant see any but unsure whatthe goo is and if it just normal membrane when softened?

The first one was much easier!

Thanks

Marie

Marie ya might want to try posting your ?'s like that in their own post not that it is wrong to post them here but more people will see it and you have a better chance at a fast response. Welcome to the board Miss Prissy does have tons of info and I think she might of hatched goslings. Good hatching vibes being sent to all of ya.

I am so excited:D
I posted the other day on emergencys that I had brought in a bunch of my tiny eggs that I was sure couldn't be fertle due to the hens that had been with a rooster (I thought) was laying xtra large eggs. I tried candling them and of course couldn't really see anything. (I'm a new owner and don't know what I'm doing anyway).
So I decided to go away and crack one and double check before putting them in the fridge. There was a baby chick in there

. I quickly put the eggs back but didn't know if they would hatch or not since I had them out 20-30 minutes and know I didn't put them back the right way. Well was out there and when mommy hen, She has everyones eggs about 15-20 now (I leave them ALL alone) I can hear them TAP TAP TAPPING.

I AM SO EXCITED.

I'm going to be a mommy, or grandmommy or chicken grandmommy or something.
Do I need to make a little ramp up to the nest for the baby chickens to walk up to the nest? It will be to far for them to walk up and down to. My daughter made the nesting box for the big hens and these eggs are the xtra tiny ones that I'm sure are my little silkies laid. I will have to take pictures and see if I have a rooster hanging out pretending to be a hen.

How long does it take for them to break out, should I help them, I noticed that one of the silkies did try and peck at the eggs when the hen was off the nest thats how I found out. The hen just blows up in a big ball of feathers when I get near but she is so funny as I can still pet her.

To everyonesmomtoo, the mama hen will roost on the ground with the babie's until they can fly up to the nest box themselve's. It's neet watching the hen try & call the babie's up. I alway's put up stagared pole's starting low & getting a little higher so the biddies can practice flying up. It will be a little bit yet before that happen's. PEACE

Im on day 20 on my new hampshire reds and brown leghorns. Nothing yet no pipping but day 20 doesn't start till this evening around 6:00 p.m. I have 2 pips!!!

Day 20 with 14 EE eggs. The box was quite damaged when it arrived, but the eggs were intact. Wish me luck. I am a lousy candler, but it appeared that they were developing at day 7. I didn't bother to check again because I can't tell anyway.

Day 26 on my Reeve's Pheasant and I have a pip:) Hopefully it will be ok and hatch. I need some good luck right now. I have 6 of these eggs but I never could see through to candle.
