I candled my eggs on Friday, and out of 48 eggs threw away 11, nothing happening in them.
The babies I hatched out a couple of weeks ago are just adorable. I had to stop by to see them yesterday. A friend of ours bought them from me.

My next hatch due on the 14th. I'm gonna be gone this weekend. I will have to add water before I leave though. Sunday when I come home will have to turn up humidity. Man how time flies.

It is the last hold-out out of 16 red Dorkings and 14 Silver Greys. I put it in, and the only thing I'm touching is the vent plug where I add water to keep the humidity up. It has been a long 4 weeks, and I'm tired of throwing eggs away... please, oh please, let this one hatch!!!

I think the second hatch is about over, I ended up getting 9 babies out of the 11 cochins and I feel sucessful. The orps.welsummers, andulusians and marans go into the hatcher tomorrow for a friday hatch.
I just set..88 more eggs last night, same as last...buff orp, ameraucana, cochinx and isa brown x, as well as pekin. Plus I have several dozen (something like 4?) in for one of my 4-H kids...wee joy fun, babies that I don't have to pay to feed!! LOL The kids were chuckling about what they call my 'God' complex
My one and only chicken egg pipped this morning and is talking up a storm!!! I only have one cause I rescued her from a biology experiment they were gonna trash them
