Two more hatched, for a total of three so far. Interesting to see that they all look different. One yellos, one brown and black striped, one black. Cute--very cute!

Day 21 on my 11 blue orps still waiting

Day 20 on 3 McClain Game eggs & 1 Polish.2 of the game have pipped & you can hear them peeping.Still waiting on the others.

Day 17 on 3 Red pyle,2 Brassy Backs,2 Mille Fluer,1 Polish,1 Wyondotte,1 Blue Goldwing,& 1 Fawn Goldwing.

Sunday will be 18 for 11 mix Cochin Roo, cochin,bo & rir hens. I was able to clean my hatcher after my last mixes hatched this week and am getting temp and humidity back again.
Then things get CRAZY! Gold Phoenix eggs go in hatcher Wednesday and then Blue/Black Orp eggs and the last 3 mix eggs go in next Saturday. Gonna be a a harried few days around here.

I am waiting on 20 BLRW and they are driving me crazy. This is the slowest hatch I have ever had. Their little beeks are sticking out and then they wait for hours. I have been hatching this batch for 2 days and have about 6 chicks so far. Nine more piped. Five just sitting there. I am trying to be patient. My husband says they look just like golf balls with feet.

I have 3 broody hens.

1 hen hatched 4 out of 6 eggs.

The 2nd hen is still sitting, but has hatched 9 out of 10 eggs, with 1 still pipping.

The 3rd hen still has 1 1/2 weeks left.

This is our 1st experience with chicks, and everything is working out well.

So is it a good idea to candle on day 14 or should I just wait until day 18 when I move them from the turning trays?
