Just day 27 on the rouen duck eggs all is quite should I keep the temp at 99 ? it has been at 97 most of today. My DH was ?ing how long the hatchlings should stay in the incubator told him I believed they were ok in there for the first 24 hrs, got a lot of ?s as this is our 1st hatch. I hope we have been doing ok so far I really do want some baby Butter's running around as our duck died leaving us 8 eggs. We candled on day 8 all looked fertile and again on day 20. I stopped turning yesterday day 26 am last time. Any advise is welcome Thanks,
Hope everyones hatches continue and are going well..
It's day 18 & I'm about to move the egg's to a hatcher. The question is will I have a problem with the hatcher not having circulated air since my bator the egg's were in has circulated air????? Both are Hova Bator's.
Day 20 and my Silkie eggs are pipping and wiggling!!! These were HAND-DELIVERED by Crackers (Charlie) when he came up for a fishing trip FROM FLORIDA!
Five of the little beauties went in the hatcher, and 3 are pipped with one more wiggling up a storm!!! These are Charlie's grandbabies, and BamaChicken's great grandbabies!!!
Anyone flying up to visit our great state this summer???
I let the broodies do the work this time but one hen keeps trying to kill the chicks when they are born! She did get one but I keep going out and getting the chicks just as they are ready to pop out and put them in the broder... Has anyone had this happen to them? This is my first time with a broody. I use a bator and have great hatches but my hens were just begging for eggs to hatch

I am waiting for my little mixed egg. Baby was in the air sac earlier when almost threw out the egg, good thing I double check with a candling before I throw ANYTHING out! Still waiting for the cracks in the eggs though. !!!!
