who is taking the eggs?

No eggs for a couple days; I didn't think much about it because they just started laying again a week or 2 ago. We live in the Hudson Valley, 3 nor'easters in a few weeks, snow just melting.

But then I found these today, 4 to 15 feet from the coop, in their run.

The girls are all ok and appear content. I walked around the perimeter and could not find obvious signs of invasion.

Any thoughts who the culprit is?

I am surprised the girls did not finish off the shells...

Looks like it could be a rat. I would think the hens would eat the shells, too.

I'm thinking it may be a skunk, since it didn't attack your birds.
