Thanks all, I really have to get back out there and get some more done. Last night went okay even with the 2 ends open, put the dog back out. I could not sleep all night, I was up and down checking on my chickens. I kept telling myself to get out there with a flashlight and get it done.

Chickiemama, had another peafowl egg last night. So after you get yours in the incubator and in 7 days check for fertility if you want a few more let me know.

I just hate when you think everything is going fine, it foes all wrong. I guess it is best to think it is going wrong and then maybe it will be fine.

Well, tonight I candled for the last time, until after the 7th. Everyone due to hatch between the 7th and the 9th are alive and kicking, except 1 Guinea egg which I could not tell, due to the egg being brown and white.

I lost I SZ and 1 BA and I have 1 egg that looks like there may be 2 babies in it. I will know more when I candle again. My peafowl that is due on the 14th is doing great, I am so excited.

I have a friend down the road that told me the best way to hatch the peafowl is with a broody. HAHAHA I have hatched a lot of eggs from my hens and so have 2 of my friends and my hens have hatched 3 out of 36+ that I have left them and only 1 baby survived. It survived because I took it and brought it in the house. The other to that hatched disappeared, as for the others, they spoiled. No way am I going to trust them sitting on my peafowl egg.

My chicken coop is still open on 1 and 1/2 sides. Of course when you think you are getting somewhere, here comes the rain.

I pray everyone survives one more night. If God gives me that, tomorrow they will be completely safe again.

So I am collecting eggs and going to hatch one more incubator full. I told hubby I am hatching a few more to make up the ones (about 10) that I lost. I figure if I hatch about 40, it will be just about right.

You never know what might happen between now and then. I am just glad you all are so understanding.

I have not had any more chickens killed (Thank God) I prayed to God to watch over them until I can get their coop safe again.

It is not raining today and I hope it stays this way all day long. Then I can get the last 2 sides on. I will post pictures when I get it finished. It is pretty good for a quick throw together and no blue prints or design, just my memory.

I can so see how 40 babies would make up for the 10 that was lost. Seems like simple algebra to me!!

Come on little phesants!!!!

Also, she said she had another box of eggs for me too. So that means my Guinea eggs from Florida has arrived too!

These are indeed exciting times!

Well, I hope she is careful, they are just thrown in a box and not very well packed. Just kidding. They are wrapped nice and snug with wash clothes and packed snuggly between newspaper, but we don't want them scrambled.

When I went to feed this morning, Mommy duck (one on my lake) had a little baby with her. Sad she lost about 6 others, I told her not to lay on the opposite side of the lake. When I checked on them you could tell they all hatched, but she seems happy with the one she has. I guess I could try to give her the 2 I hatched and see if she will accept them.
