Who is with me?

I see we are on the same page:

I just love the look and color of the Andalusian, I hope to have one Roo.

We both also have Marans and pheasant, except mine are Red Golden. Do you have the Ringneck and Quail for eating, or what do you do with them?

As I stated the count down begins again, but this is the last batch. The last one.

As for incubators, I would be scared to have more than one, but I may get another for my Birthday this year and I can use it next year since mine seems to leak. (My fault for sticking the towel under it.) I am thinking about using a silicone sealer on the troughs and see if that helps.

Well, you need to post a picture of her.

Under your desk?

Did you take her to work with you?

What type of work do you do that they allow you to bring in baby chicks?

CB you are a hoot!!!! I work for in the IT department for Public Health. Frilly is just one teeny little chickie. She didn't make too much of a ruckus.

Everyone just thought she was the cutest little thing.

This morning before I left for work she couldn't even stand up without falling over.

On the way to work I stopped by and got vitamins for her and have been giving her vitamin water all day through a dropper. A co-worker helped me splint her legs today.

I have put her in the brooder with the others. I am checking on her about every 10 minutes to make sure she hasn't toppled over. I may end up keeping her in a box upstairs with a light on her just until morning.

And now..... Let me introduce..... FRILLY

If you look real close, you can see the splint we put on her legs.

She has just a touch of white on her wings and on the side of her head. Her longest toe has white feathers where the others have grey.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

To bad you are not closer, she could have Itsy for a companion.

By the way, ABOUT TIME. I have only been waiting since last night to see her. I love her red color.

SO. The Deapertment of Health allows you to bring dirty little chickens to work.

So have you figured out why the person marked the egg Frilly?

If she is a Frilly, I guess that is what Itsy is also. They sure look similiar.

I need your job, I wonder how many babies I could get by taking to work with me. If I was you, I would have took the whole box, that way Frilly would at least had company while you were working.

By the way whatever happened to Bob? Did he make it to Freedom? Is he still in the shell? Is he breathing? Tell me enquiring minds need to know.

Bob had passed by the time I had gotten home.... Bob and Bitsy are up in Chickie heaven having a blast. I know Jesus is taking really good care of both of them!

I have put Frilly in a box by herself and then put her back in the bator to keep warm. When I had her in the brooder, the other chickes pecked at her when she toppled over. They pecked at her belly button until it was bleeding. If I hadn't intervened, they would have killed her.

Frilly has food and water. I just put her in the bator to keep warm. That's ok isn't?????

No not Bob.

I guess he can play with the babies I lost. I have never had any luck with the ones backward in the eggs.

Any time I have any trouble with a newborn, I always stick them back in the incubator for awhile. Never seemed to hurt and always seemed to help.

Give little Frilly kisses and hugs. Talk at you later, I have to get some things done before dark.

No reason why they marked her frilly? Should have probably marked her TINY. Maybe she will have them backward feathers.

Well, Itsy is back in the incubator and the outcome is grim. I think she was just to tiny and maybe the bigger ones squashed her, since she was always climbing under them, or she was just to tiny to begin with. I guess I will know her outcome come morning, so far she seems to be going down hill.

Come on Itsy!!!! Don't give up now!!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat as you with Frilly. I put the older chickies in the teenage brooder so Frilly can be in the baby brooder. Even with the vitamins, she does not seem to have the fight in her that she did yesterday. When she does flip over she doesn't try to get back up.

I am not optimistic.

Well, Itsy did not make it over night. She was just to tiny, smaller than any of the banties I have hatched, plus with the shrink wrapped membrane and fluctuating incubator temps from being in the bathroom all probably did not help her much.

Well I moved the incubator to the spare bedroom, due to the bathroom door continuously being closed and I do not believe the bathroom window helped much. With the window and the door shut all the time the temp in the incubator sometimes rose to 103.
Well I moved it to the spare bedroom and this morning the temp was at 93, so I am working on getting it back to where it should be. Big difference than always having to turn it down in the bathroom. Oh well shame on me.

I put my 32 eggs in today, could not put the 10 I had of my own, due to no space, so I went with my shipped eggs and we will see what happens.

Chick God watch my eggs.

Guineas due around the 28th.

5 days to go
Will candle tonight since they have been out of the bathroom for over 24 hours. Hopefully they just enjoyed cooling down a bit and there is still life inside the egg.

I am so sorry about Itsy.

There is no change in Frilly. No better, No worse. I have now started giving her straight vitamins instead of mixing in with water. What can it hurt at this point????
idunno.gif
When the boys were babies, I gave them poly-vi-sol straight.

I hope your bator does better for you in the bedroom.

My guinea and turkey eggs are due on the 28th too!
