When I was a child I had an Old English Game Bantam hen that I named One Feather because she had been chased so mercilessly by our mutt that she had only one tail feather left!
My dog used to catch her for me so I could hold her, and I became very attached to her. So much so that when my older sister was in the school play, they used her in one of their scenes!
She grew to be a very pretty hen and outlived most of the rest of our flock, having several clutches of chicks.
EDIT: I also had an OEGB rooster that I bought at a farm show who I named Napoleon. When I got him he had a beautiful full comb, but after the first winter he was effectively dubbed by frostbite. Anyway, I kept him for several years and ended up giving him to a neighbor when I moved away. He was always very calm and friendly with me, but he was definitely the boss bird!
