When my son was a Junior/senior we had the house they all came to whether he was home or not. We had an "open door policy" Our door is always open and we where only a phone call away if you need help. Our only rule was NEVER LIE TO US. Having one of the smallest homes in town and having up to 8 teens hanging out in our livingroom w/us we gave up our privacy and our alone time but it was sooo worth it! To really know who your children are hanging out with the good and the bad made it easier to parent him. We had great holidays and have gone to more prom grand marches, school activites and graduations than any other parent we know.We have also gone to court for speeding tickets and even a childbirth classes but we made a commitment to those kids. My theory on teenagers are they are nothing but over grown toddlers.Learning and growing so quickly and yet still stumbling trying to walk on their own....oh yeah they also have the tantrums. LOL
