Who shows dogs?

If you know any handlers, they'd probably be tickled to give you some of their used leads and things in exchange for assistance with grooming and ringside at shows. What you're talking about shouldn't cost more than a few dollars, and most handlers probably have a dozen of them in their tack box.

if you know any handlers in reno nevada let my know.

I have a Borzoi...he's gotten two majors & he's up to 11 points...I was hoping to get him finished this summer (he's still got one more show to do, but the turnout in years past has been poor, so he probably won't finish this year, although he may end up being qualified for the Eukanuba).

I would suggest going the AKC website & finding a breeder of your dog breed to connect with. Most people are MORE than willing to talk about dogs, grooming techiques, handling/bait, etc.

In addition, I would start out at local, small shows, then work your way up to breed sanctioned shows, etc. I personally do not handle my own dog because I simply do not have time nor can I take the time away from work/home/my other animals to do it. Although I do practice at home with Brodee & if I end up with extra time one day, I do think it would be fun to do.

I have an English Mastiff ~Tug~ 20 month old male has a few points and went through a "butt high" stage and about the time that was straightening out, he went down the 8 foot ditch and pulled a muscle!
He's sound again and will be back in the ring next month. Time to fatten him a little- with an injury and growth stuff I like to keep him a little lean.

He's raw fed-
most of his diet is chicken backs and chicken necks I also get venison/pork/beef mixture ground from my local meat market. I also belong to a raw food co-op that I get raw green tripe from.
He was never food motivated and baiting him was impossible! I now have a recipe for liver treats that are cooked and he will bait with that.
He's also on the shy side-once he's stacked for the judge, he won't breathe again 'til the down and back!

Liams name is

Carousels Quantum Leap. He's been on animal planet for the Rose City Classic...but only going around the ring during regular classes.

I don't show my dogs or anything, but I'm Boxer obsessed.... I currently have 3 (and would have more if money & my hubby would allow). *haha*

I'd like to show someday. It seems so exciting!
