Who wants to hatch with me DUCKY EGGS went in bator today

I had one egg that I set ether on the 7th or 8th of May. It is a Millard that I put in with the chick eggs. I collected one egg from my duck & she ether started eating them or stopped laying. The only one I collected was from 04Apr09 & when I was candling last night I could see the yoke with a red line in the middle of it. Since I don't know what I am doing I don't know what that means.

Going to peek at eggs tonight LOL just to ck. My rouen is in a fowl mood LOL sitting on 5 eggs so far and she hissed at me when i walked by

Good luck Starry!! My eggs are coming along nicely. Now I have a dilemma! I'm supposed to be going out of town on the 28th. My eggs are supposed to hatch on the 30th.

I think I'm going to have to stay home, which really breaks my heart because I haven't seen my kids or grandkids since October. I should have planned this better.

I guess I can always go up during the summer.

Of, fun! I have 4 different sets going now, I have runners in on day 15, Khakis and Rouens on day 10, AND lol Cayugas and harlequins on day 8 plus some crested rouens and I forgot what else on day 5 HAHAHA

One Acre: I just removed all the clears I had, even from the ones set 5 days ago b/c I can almost always see development by day 5, if your iffy about some, leave them and check them in a few days...

Well i looked and well LOl just saw some blobs no viens realy but it was only day 4 going into day 5 . So i will ck all on sunday and then do the toss. I also have 13 dozen chicken eggs in the new home made cabnet bator they went in on the 8th. I think i will waite till sunday to ck them i have a double yolker in there. I am sure i will loose several as we had temp spikes and the ups and downs of running a new bator working the kinks out. On a side note i have a rouen who was sitting on a nest yesterday for the first time i go out this morning and it was raining and the ducks had snuck out the yard. And i found a new egg laying in the yard. Her nest has 5 wet eggs in them and she is not sitting on there. My question is do they waite till they have 12 or more before they will sit on it all the time or what LOL? I dont know if i should just collect them or see what she does??

I know I'm not incubating duck eggs, but on day five (although it hasn't been exactly five days yet) I can already see embryos and veins in my goose eggs.

I can see them in about eight eggs. Do any of you know whether it's possible for an egg to develop at a slower pace from another, regardless of being in the same environment? If some are developing now and some aren't, is it certain that they won't at a later date? Some seem to have a very similar-looking yolk, both in size and shade, but no sign of an embryo yet. I know lots of people have trouble candling goose eggs, but I just bought a rather large LED flashlight for 9.99 and despite my initial judgments, it works quite well.

Good luck, everyone!

Edit:
Decided to upload a picture for everyone.
This is a pilgrim goose egg at day 5 incubation.

Going to candle sunday. I guess i will take the eggs from the nest as my girls seem to have lost interst again.
I got attacked by the jungle fowl rooster today and it was bad we have tried everything to get that roo to be less agressive. I was out letting the ducks out he was in the duck yard. He cant be with my hens he attacks them and draws blood. I was going to put feed out and he blind sided me. Attacked my ankles and drew blood and i was screaming. I had nothen to defend myself with but the eggs in my hand. i chunked them at him he jumped on my back. That was the final straw hubby took care of him. I was bleeding everywhere and he left a nice deep punkcher wound in the tendent in my ankle. It hurts so bad :O i was crying and i have had stictches like 40xs and never had it hurt as bad as this. So i lost 6 eggs in the process of defending myself. Tg i had not collected the duck eggs yet. I cant even hoble up the stairs to ck the bator

Wow, that sounds terrible and horribly painful. I would try rehoming the bird as it doesn't seem possible to keep in your situation at all. For your own safety, it seems necessary... I'm glad you're okay. A few eggs is little price to pay for your own safety.

Keep us updated on your incubator.
