Who's hatching around Jan 10? 1st try, Could use the "moral support!"

Two more days of turning, then the real excitement begins!!! 5 more days...then my babes will be here!! I had 8 eggs, only one wasn't fertile. All the other 7 have definite development, and are doing great!! i learned my lesson though with my little Giant thermometer...that is I threw it out. I went to Walmart and got a digital thermo/hydro thermometer, and it's working like a champ. now comes the time when I start getting excited.

I'll be taking a long weekend next week! Better get those cameras charged up! OOhhhhhhhh.....I can't wait!
I'd better get my brooder set up, too. I'll need another heat lamp, my hens have the old one in the barn. I better make a list for TSC.

I have 12 silkies due the 7th in the bator. Candled last night and all are still moving. Started with 18 shipped so 12 still growing and moving, I think is great.

Well my daughter and I candled our 3 silkie eggs when I took the turner out to lay the eggs down for the hatch.

Good news. All 3 were seen moving. So I laid them on the tray and filled up the water area. Tomorrow is day 19, so hopefully all goes well.

Good luck to everyone.

I think my hatch will be a mess! I had my incubator quit a week or so ago, and I lost my goose egg and 5 pekin duck eggs. I had to toss one of the cayuga eggs yesterday. So that leaves me with 1 pekin due the 9th, and 12 cayugas due the 11th. None of them look the same! They should all be looking pretty full, since they are in their last week, but some do, most don't. So this should be interesting, to say the least. I can't seperate them, as I only have one bator right now that is truly 'empty', and I need it to hatch the frizzles I got from DDD that are due the 13th. So like I said, mine will be a mess!

Wow, that has to be stressful having an incubator quit in the middle of the hatch!! Sorry to hear about your trouble. I hope it all turns out OK. Keep us updated.

Yeah, I was surprised I only lost a few. It was a first for me, that's for sure! I have the eggs in the same bator now, I think it was because of the humidity being so high? Now when I add water, I have to turn the temp up a bit, or it won't go back to normal. When I use it for hatching chicks again, it should be fine.

i have 29 RIR eggs due the 8th, i am going to take them out of turner in the morning, started off with 36, but 7 were clear at first candle. COME ON BABYS time go so slow the last three days (it's going to kill me) LOL
