I had one I opened that I thought was dead cause it was 4 or 5 days over. It was still developing (the hen kept kicking them out of the nest, she was not in a good spot and couldn't set them properly), anyway, it still had a few days on it by the looks of it, but it didn't make it

I hope yours does!

I think it would be a miracle! Good luck, I can't believe it was peeping so soon, even though it was cracked!

I have 15 (8 rir and 7 golden comets) due the 12th or 13th. This is my first time too and not quite sure on how to count the days.

I candled my eggs last night on day 14. All 42 were looking good. No blood rings and even in the darker eggs I could see veining.
I had my first 100% hatch Christmas Day and am hoping this one does the same.

I've got some white silkies due to hatch on the 7th. I started off with 21 eggs but I'm down to 3 eggs now

I was hoping that since these were shipped "in-state" they would arrive in better shape. So much for that idea, LOL.

I haven't candled in a few days but they were all moving around then and looked good. I will likely candle tomorrow night after taking the turner out for the hatch.

Uh, I'm running out of space. I divided my 3'x3' brooder up so I could have some different age groups together. My 17 week old welsummer roosters get beat up by the "established" hens, so I've had to keep them separate. With my poor hatches, I just have one or two of each group separted by a month or so in age. 2 welsummer pullets about 12 weeks old are together. Then I've got a 5 week old welsummer pullet in my bathroom waiting for a spot in the brooder, LOL. I think it's time to build a second brooder

I sure wish these roosters would stand up for themselves. They tower over the "mean" hens but run for cover when the hens get too close.

I have several staggered hatches going on right now, and because I am in NC visiting family, Missouri chick is bator sitting for me. She texted me last night, and.... I HAVE A BABY!!!! I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it is either jersey/polish mix, or turken/polish mix. I am waiting as we speak to see what if anything else has hatched.
I have attached a pic. from last night when it was still wet. Any suggestions on what you think it might be?

Well, I found the perfect answer to those who have found the waiting too stressful for hatches. I always think of a week or two after the due date to set my dates w/new life so I am pleasantly surprised when they do hatch! ("always" hmmm, its only my 3rd try!)

I have the chick who's shell I accidently cracked open peeping and trying to hatch today, its a white or yellow colored chick! AND, two more eggs pipped...so I took the cardboard egg cartons out and laid the eggs on a doubled towel, all 35 of them. I knew there were more than 30 eggs but its now time to face reality

I have 7 of my own EE's in there along with 35 of my sons game hens. I am really hoping his hatch.
