I've got 5 easter egg x barred rock, due on the 16th sept.

Only 6 days to go!!!!!

And 12 light sussex on day 5 and 6 more from my girls on day 5 too.

Very excited!! gotta sort out a brooder now, better hurry up.

I thought I was through incubating for the year, but a friend wanted some layers, so we put in 9 EE and 9 non sex link (2nd generation)due the 25th.
Then another friend called and said she had a hen quit a nest of guinea eggs, could I put those in the incubator, but no she doesn't want the guineas, but can't stand the thought of abandoning those poor liitle keets already close to hatch, due any time.
The another friend showed up with a couple dozen eggs he wants hatched, dominique and something that was supposed to be leghorns but the hens were red, due the 29th.
Makes me want to put some of my own in there too, but I don't have anyplace to brood chicks in the fall except in the house, and I just put the last ones outside yesterday! I want my computer room back!

20 days left!!!!!!! haha that's a longgggg time! today is day one for me and its been good. So how is everybody else doing?

I have 30 eggs to be in lockdown this weekend. They are from my own chickens, Delaware, austrolorps, b orpingtons, RIR, mutts. At day 7 had 4 in question. Haven't looked at them since. This is my test hatch for dry incubation. I had such a bad last hatch trying something new. Read and heard good things about it. My humidity has been between 22-19% the entire time by adding no water at all. Will up to 60-70 this weekend and see how I do. Don't think it could be any worse than the last time. I have never had great hatching with 50%, 65% and then 15%. The only thing other than shipping I could figure was wrong was too high of humidy. WE"LL see how it goes.

Today is day 7. So that means candeling right? I'm waiting on pins and needles for it to get dark. Miz Broody really doesn't like to be bothered.
