I'm seriously thinking of getting a picture window Hovabator to use as a hatcher myself. May have to get two at the rate I'm going this week!

Who else has a full incubator just now?

Of COURSE I have brooder space for all of them.. I have two medium dog kennels with clip on lights inside.. and one 8 foot long/3 feet wide cage in the coop.. plus a segregated section of the coop for the teenagers... Tis a well thought out obsession..lol

I'm down right now ,, only have 1 cabinet ( GQF 1266) full and have another handbuilt one warming up , and have another 1266 that I am working on but probably will have it full by the first week in may , 1 Tray is due to go to the hatcher 4./23 and 1 4/28 s they will be full again by the first week in may also . My wifwe says I should quit but I keep explaining that 1 thing i'm not is a quitter .

All of my incubators are full, for the Easter Hatch. That's 90 eggs.

Well, 89 eggs.. one stacked egg actually cracked open while I was away for two days - and there was development in it, but of course the chick died. Probably better than if it was an egg NOT developing! That would have ucked up everything underneath it!

I'm guilty. I have a sportsman packed and 8..yes I said 8...styrofoams full of chicken duck and goose eggs with a few Turkey eggs. We are getting over 40 eggs a day now...and everyone isn't Even fired up. Starting to wonder what in the world we are gonna do with all these babies!!!??? Auctions are flying!!

You know, you could probably sell those eight Styrofoam boxes and get another cabinet. Way, way less fussing you would have to do!

OK folks, don't leave us standing here. Who else has a full incubator?

My incubators are LOADED. I have 35 dozen cooking. I try to plan out 2-3 hatches per week. By the time they hatch I have eggs ready to go back in. A empty tray in the incubator isn't something I like. I also have a few chickens, turkeys and geese sitting. I have a 10' x 20' room just for my brooders. I have 18 brooders at this time with only 10 being used now. The chicks stay in the brooders till I think they are old enough to try outdoor living. They will still be on a light till our nights stay warm. The thing is no mater how many I hatch every hatch is still like my first as if I am the proud daddy. The bringing a life into this world even if its just a chicken, duck, goat or whatever it is their all inportant to me. My animals are my pets I am disable and I need them more than they need me. I use my animals to keep me moving. Its easy to give up and feel sorry for yourself but I never was one to go the easy way of doing things. proud member of Chicken AA

Ok, so I have a small potatoes operation compared to most of you. I am just starting a small backyard flock the hard way, by hatching eggs, this is my 4th hatch, all have been shipped eggs. I have 13 bantam eggs in my homemade incubator now on day 8, they were supposed to be going in with the shipped eggs arriving today, which were delayed. I also have another dozen home grown barnyard mixes and bantams sitting on the table waiting, but I am afraid they wont all fit. I would need another thermostat to whip up another incubator..... I may end up stacking eggs until my hubby gets home to amaze me with his handy man skills yet again.

He isn't a chicken fan yet, but he is warming up to them slowly. I am about to be over my goal for number of chickens, so he doesn't understand why I am still hatching. What that really means is that he doesn't understand that roos don't count, only the egg layers do.
