That's true. And then some of those knowledgeable people also have the gift of communicating that knowledge in a way that's easily understood by novices to whom this information could easily be baffling, overwhelmig and head-spinning, without arrogance! Teaching is a special gift! The knowledge some people have here is just outstanding!!

My friend has a whole flock of lavender and blue chickens! All I see is grey chickens. When she showed me pictures of them as teenagers I thought they all looked like pigeons. Made me think of the "sad beige babies" cause they are all shades of grey to me!! No shade to the grey chickens out there, they are beautiful, and I would love to have a few....blue and lavender chickens.Blue, Self Blue, Lavender . . . .I'm sure I'm missing some (probably several), but these are the most common ones I've seen.
Were the people that decided what color 'grey' chickens would be called colorblind? I have yet to see an actual blue or lavender (light shade of purple) chicken. Is there a 'color wheel' of sorts?
Once the 'reason' is explained, if there is one, I'll get over it, but it's one of those nagging questions that new chicken keepers just have to ask, lol.
Ahhh that stinks!!!!!!! They really are!!!!!!!i was about to order them from meyers but delivery and hatching dident match up with some other ones i wanted. They are stunning
