Why are people so nasty~Ebay auction...

I will have eggs to offer on ebay later. Feel free to e-check. I will collect as soon as the check clears and will send you fresh eggs. It's no big deal at all. I always get my eggs I buy a week after the auctions end so I know people don't collect 'til after the auction anyways. I even always pay CC and eggs aren't shipped 'til a week later. Most descriptions say eggs are collected after auction ends and shipped fresh. I wouldn't want to buy from an auction that already has eggs as eggs would be old by auction ending and then shipping.

There for awhile the echeck option was popping up FIRST on paypal which i found VERY annoying. I had a handful of customers that werent paying attention and clicked through and ended up sending and echeck. MOst of them were as annoyed as i was cause after all they had money sitting in their paypal account and now paypal was taking the payment from their checking account!

I just went ahead and shipped the eggs and trusted that all the echecks would clear ..and they did. The annoying part of that is that you cant use paypals click and ship to ship them.. grrrr.

Ebay/paypal are looking for more and more ways to hold onto both buyers and sellers money for as long as they can. That alone is bad enough..but in doing so they are pitting buyers and sellers against each other..and thats even worse!

I havent sold on ebay for a couple months now and my never again..after about 12 years of ebay sales sigh.

If you have rare eggs to sell you may change your tune. If someone sends an e check or is slow to pay you have THAT weeks eggs unsold/paid for and they go to waste. The next weeks eggs you cant auction off because your gonna need them to fill the order that was paid late or with an echeck...so when someone does that you have 2 options..you can send old eggs..or you can lose a weeks egg sales. I have always chosen to lose a weeks eggs sales...but its still annoying!

I know. I found it so annoying I deleted my checking account from my account. Now it says I am not verified anymore:( I still use paypal though with a CC and haven't had issues with the buyer as my account being unverified.

It looks like he does quite a bit of business through ebay, with his own store. I would have expected a little bit more understanding before condemning me to eggs that don't stand a chance...
I guess from dealing with customers at work through email, normally the !!! means they are PO'd. I honestly didn't realize I was paying with an echeck... but I did switch payment methods already (probably within an hour or so that he informed me of the no echeck rule). So I should still get my eggs in time right?

I guess I just figure my eggs shouldn't be collected until the auction is over, so they are the freshest possible. If that is the case they shouldn't be collected until today, then the payment was scheduled to clear on the 17th, so why in the world would they not be shipped until next week?

That's it BYC from now on!!! Anyone want to sell me turkey eggs???? LOL!

I guess sellers will need to post that the eggs from this auction will be ready to ship at auctions end so chose payment method with that in mind since they will ship after payment clears. That would tell me that unless I want old eggs I shouldn't do e-check.

The seller's response didn't seem rude to me. Maybe you're reading too much into it.

There are enough insults in life already, no need to go looking for them.

!!! means I am very mad. SO DOES CAPS. So I would have thought the same thing as you. I don't think you read too much into it. I think this seller is being a jerk to you.

The problem with email or any type of non verbal communication is that it's often hard to communicate a tone through words. I could type this and you probably wouldn't get my tone!!! I could be lecturing, happy, mad, or just like exclamation points. If you read the message the tone can even change depending on your mood. Even the more accepted "rules" can be unknown to someone. LIKE WRITING IN CAPS generally means I'm yelling that statement. I've met ebayers who did that not because they were yelling but because it was easier to read.

Probably the best thing you could do is send back a letter saying Yes I guess I did miss that part. Could you help me fix it so I can send the payment through Paypal?
