Why are YOU on BYC forums?

I have met amazing friends on here, that are near me, or across the country. There is not one negative thing I can say about this place. Not one!

I am here for a hundred different reasons. I came because I got chickens and then realized I had no clue what to do next. Then I made friends. Then Ken realized I don't talk so much when I am on here, so he stopped bugging me to get off. So here I am. Again.

I visit BYC for advice and feedback. The forum is becoming addicting and I will have to control myself. I'm browsing and actually enjoying reading all the threads.

I came here first because my 'Net searches for information about building coops more often than not hit on links to the coops forum. I spent a lot of time copying coop features and even though the first plans I found i could use weren't here on BYC, I noticed the other forums once I bought my chicks.

There was enough information to keep me here, as most of what I wanted to learn was presented in question & answer format, as others asked and SO many helpful people responded. I began to notice two things: answers from certain, knowledgeable members were presented in a manner I could easily understand, and there was a lot of humor interwoven in the posts.

Ahhhh, humor. Life is just funny. I use humor in a lot of dark places, so I was easily drawn to the posts of people who also saw and expressed amusing viewpoints at the same time they imparted useful information. And to discover humor in keeping chickens!

I would not have been able to do as well by my chickens without BYC. I learned how to fix my mistakes, how to prevent some, and what a wonderful collection of warm-hearted, helpful people there is, here, to help, support, and occasionally poke fun at other like-minded folks. I was accepted. And soon enough, my experiences were enough to help others now and then. Very rewarding.

I continue to participate to "pay back" into the Chicken Cosmos for what I've deducted from it.

I first came to BYC to get info on the chicks that i had just bought...
I stayed because i've met so many great people on here that have become friends.
Never thought that i'd actually care about people that i met on a silly forum... but yep.... i've met a LOT of great peeps on here.
I'm glad Nifty lets me stick around. Even if he doesnt wanna...

At the moment....I am bored and have not been on in a day or two.

I don't know why I came on to begin with....I think I was learning to hatch chicks. I gave up too many died or did not hatch but I stayed here
