why do my old english game bantam hens do this pls tell me lol

hey, right one of my old english game hens lays a egg and sits on it for about 30 mins then gets off then another old english game hen sits on the egg/eggs puts bits of hay around her like shes going broody and about 30 mins//1 hour later she gets off and then none of them sit on the egg/eggs again why is this ???

All of my chickens fo the nesting behavior when they lay an egg. If there is already an egg there, *fooop* underneath her it goes.

Yesterday I was in the coop and I thought, "Man with this heat they sure are slowing down laying."

Then my SS finished laying. She hopped off, gave me an annoyed squawk, and hustled out the door. When I looked in the nesting box, she'd been sitting on 14 eggs.

Sneaky chicken.
